About this item

The African Elephant can actually be two different species, including the African bush elephant and the somewhat smaller African forest elephant. Although this little one is still just a baby, you’ll be surprised at how big it is once it’s sitting in your living room! History: Despite the presence of sanctuaries for elephants all throughout the world, every African elephant species is facing dwindling population numbers due to the shrinking of their natural habitat from human incursion, as well as severe poaching. Sadly, elephants are one of the most commonly poached animals worldwide due to size of the illegal ivory trade. Scientific Name: Genus Loxodonta Characteristics: Intelligent, social, and often peaceful, African elephants can display various emotions, including grief, compassion, gratitude, and more. This professionally designed African Elephant Baby toy is eager to go home with you, and is letting out a mighty little bellow! Size: 3.5 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and 1.95 inches tall, our African Elephant Baby toy figurine is a bit larger than a deck of cards stood on its side. Painted for lifelike accuracy, this figurine looks just like an elephant calf with its light gray, creased skin. The African Elephant Baby is part of the Wild Safari® Wildlife collection. All of our products are Non-toxic and BPA free.
