Once common in rural Thai village life, these teakwood fence posts have become weathered works of art. Hand-sewn many decades ago from the base of teak trees, these pieces are rounded in the front and feature angular holes to accommodate bamboo rails once used to enclose animal pens. The waxed surface brings out the natural grain and stressed texture from decades of use. 71"h x 12"w x 8.5"d As we travel the world, we discover functional pieces of everyday life that with age and wear have been transformed into art. These original pieces reference the traditions, clever design and quality materials that have inspired transportation, construction, food production and other solutions across different cultures.
