A Red Sparkle ’56 Strat is already fun, and this Fender Custom Shop build has the sound and feel to back up the look. The Journeyman Relic treatment gives the lacquer finish a little wear without taking away from that bold color. The hand wound ’56 pickups have plenty of classic Strat snap. The neck pickup sounds round and warm, the bridge has a lively bite, and the in between positions bring out that familiar glassy sound. There’s a tone saver bleed circuit too, so the sound stays clear when you roll back the volume. The quartersawn maple neck has a 10/56 “V” carve that feels comfortably substantial in your hand.
