About this item

Celebrate Indigenous culture and nurture early childhood development with the Indigenous Midi Floor Puzzle Set – 3x12 piece. This beautifully handcrafted wooden puzzle set features three captivating animal designs: a wise turtle, a majestic moose, and a nurturing bear with her cub. Each design is brought to life through the stunning artwork of Alexandra Couchie, a proud member of Nipissing First Nation, who combines traditional woodland styles with contemporary realism. Thoughtfully designed for children aged 3 and up, these 12-piece puzzles support foundational cognitive skills through hands-on, play-based learning. As children engage in piecing together each animal, they practise problem-solving, visual-spatial reasoning, and fine motor control—all while being introduced to culturally meaningful imagery. Perfect for use in early learning classrooms, childcare centres, and at home, these puzzles are a meaningful addition to diversity- and inclusion-focused learning environments. They spark conversations about First Nations culture, deepen understanding of Canada's rich heritage, and promote respect and appreciation for Indigenous art and storytelling. Crafted in the UK by a family-run business in Derbyshire, each puzzle is made from sustainably sourced wood and finished with care—ensuring durability for everyday classroom use or home play.
