About this item

Learn how Kamala's childhood as a biracial child of immigrant parents, her education, and inspiration from her mother helped shape who she is--someone who fights injustice and empowers the powerless. She is an inspiration herself--for boys and girls everywhere who can now see someone in the White House who looks like them. Step 2 readers use basic vocabulary and short sentences to tell simple stories. They are perfect for children who recognize familiar words and can sound out new words with help.
