In Germany there are several Santa Claus traditions, depending on the region and local customs. In Saxony, Weinachtsmann (Christmas Man) is a popular, playful character with a sack full of toys for the children of Gruenhainichen. Another local tradition is the Wendt und Kuehn collection of Santa Claus figurines, first introduced in the 1930s. A large (6 inches!) Santa Claus with a pack full of toys from the Wendt und Kuehn workshop in Gruenhainichen Germany. A stunning display piece for the holidays and a must for Wendt und Kuehn collectors!
