Smithsonian Glow in the Dark Giant Volcano Bring earth science to life with the Smithsonian Glow in the Dark Giant Volcano, an immersive STEM kit that lets kids construct, customize and erupt a realistic volcano model. Using the included structure, plaster strips and glow-enhanced paint, young scientists shape and decorate their volcano before creating a dramatic eruption using baking soda and vinegar (not included). Once charged with light, the lava flows and surface details glow brilliantly in the dark for unforgettable nighttime demonstrations. Perfect for science projects, classroom displays, homeschool activities or weekend family fun, this kit explores geology, volcanic eruptions and chemical reactions in a hands-on way. Kids learn how pressure, gas release and lava flow shape the natural world, while experimenting with different eruption intensities and paint effects. After the eruption, the completed volcano becomes a display piece that sparks conversati
