For charcoal, let burn 20-25 minutes, or until ashed over before cooking. For wood, let burn until well lit. Do not add fire starter to already lit charcoal, a gas starter, or self-lighting charcoal. Ignite fire starter using a long reach lighter or long safety match. If igniting charcoal for grilling, leave grill lid off.
